About The Boutique

I am Samantha Montgomery, designer, maker & Creator of The Boutique Life, LLC. I started the Boutique to create what I've always looked for, classic accessories that are as aesthetically pleasing as they are useful, timeless and versatile. 

BEAUTY : THE PAST  

Born in the Bronx to West African parents and partially  raised in Monrovia, Liberia, I fell in love with vibrant textiles and individual style at an early age. I watched in awe as the women and men in my family transformed in their traditional African wear with regal elegance and unquestionable confidence. There is an uplifting and inspiring effect that comes from these bold vibrant prints!

FUNCTION: THE BEGINNING  

~The "clutter" Issue~ 

When I began designing my accessories, along with the intention to uplift and add joy, I had to address two issues that both contributed to stress..
1st. Clutter
2nd. Excessive spending

From the moment I receive my first paycheck I began collecting... 

shoes, earrings and of course purses. I bought multiples of similar items because I wanted more options! Most of those bags I hardly ever used but dragged around with me from home to home, closet to closet! What a waste of money!!
I also noticed the bad habits I was creating with the bags I did use and the heaviness I carried around with me each day! They would weigh me down as I continued to fill them with everything I thought I needed simply because.. there was still space. I had constant neck, shoulder and back pain from the clutter I carried. 

I had already begun learning about various minimalist lifestyles before the boutique and so much of it resonated with me! I remembered I once use to carry the tiniest wristlet and felt fully prepared for the day! Lipstick, keys, ID, cash, card.. done!

~This taught me how important Design and Intention are in contributing to & allowing new habits to form!!!~ 

I began incorporating the things I learned through minimalism in the items I was designing.

BLISS : THE FUTURE 

Every piece in the boutique is made with a conscious intention to Uplift & Inspire while Encouraging daily wellness habits!
To be able to do more with less is the Boutique's guiding philosophy. 'More Style, Less Clutter' expresses it's mission to help others feel confident in their individuality while being intentional in their lives by decluttering what is not needed to relieve stress. 

The Boutique Life creates custom handcrafted One-of-a-kind accessories combining vibrant traditional African prints with modern minimalist aesthetics. It offers a curated selection of intentionally designed accessories with built-in versatility to provide multiple style options, allowing customers to do more with one item. Each piece is beautifully handcrafted and made to order with a vibrant and inspiring mix of textiles to choose from.
